Williamsport man locked up after allegedly raping teen

After getting a teenage girl drunk in his home, Nicholas A. Peterson raped the juvenile while she was asleep, city police alleged in an affidavit.

When the girl woke up, Peterson, 22, of 1518 Scott St., had “his hands around her neck, choking her. She could not breathe,” the minor told an investigator.

“She remembers Peterson getting off her after she pushed him. She rolled over and (realized) she did not have any clothes on,” the investigator wrote in the affidavit.

The girl walked to a bathroom and realized immediately that she had been sexually assaulted, the investigator said. “She never gave Peterson consent,” the investigator said. The girl remembers “consuming at least three alcoholic beverages and getting drunk,” it was stated in the affidavit.

Peterson and the teen met through friends earlier this year, police said.

The alleged assault occurred on July 16 after the girl’s mother dropped her and three other juveniles off in Williamsport, police said.

All four minors ended up at Peterson’s home, where he “supplied” them with alcoholic beverages, police alleged.

The girl who was raped was treated at Geisinger Pennsdale by a sexual assault nurse examiner, police said.

Peterson was arrested Tuesday and arraigned on felony charges of rape, aggravated indecent assault, sexual assault, strangulation plus misdemeanor charges of indecent assault and four counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor. The charges were filed Monday. Peterson was arraigned before District Judge Denise Dieter, who committed him to the Lycoming County Prison on no bail.
