Loyalsock immediately jumped on Line Mountain Friday, scoring 50 first-half points as it broke things open quick and won, 77-31 in the District 4 Class AAA quarterfinals. The Lancers (23-2) built a 25-5 first quarter lead and led 50-16 at halftime, earning both a spot in the semifinals next week against Towanda and a ninth straight state tournament appearance.

Lacey Kriebel scored a game-high 20 points in a balanced Loyalsock effort, while making four steals. Alaina Dadzie had 18 points, eight steals and four assists and Jaekairah Harden scored 13 points while dishing eight assists. Jillian Kennedy and Madison Perry combined for 11 points and nine assists and Hazel Zajack added five points off the bench. Seven Lancers scored in the first quarter and 10 did in the game.

Elijah Eck capped a strong freshman season by scoring a team-high 15 points in Montoursville’s District 4 Class AAAA quarterfinal loss at Mount Carmel. Eck scored 12 of those points in the second half as the Warriors (11-12) cut into a 17-point halftime deficit but were unable to come all the way back against the Tornadoes (19-4) who shared the HAC-II title with semifinal opponent Danville. Mount Carmel sophomore Jude Lazicki scored a game-high 30 points. Shea Ulmer had 14 points and Kingston Fisher nine for Montoursville which was tied 11-11 after the first quarter. The Tornaodes, however, took control in the second quarter, going on a 24-7 run. The Warriors won 11 games despite graduating all five starters from last year and return four starters next season.
