Bucknell men defeat NJIT at Sojka Pavilion
LEWISBURG — Ian Motta scored 15 points, one of five Bucknell players to reach double figures in scoring, and the Bison men’s basketball team defeated NJIT, 81-64, on Thursday night at Sojka Pavilion. Motta drained a three-pointer on Bucknell’s first possession, and the Bison (4-2) led the Highlanders (0-6) wire-to-wire, leading by as many as 25 points in the second half.
Noah Williamson (14 points), Achile Spadone (14), Ruot Bijiek (13), and Brandon McCreesh (10) joined Motta in double figures, while Josh Bascoe added seven points and six assists. In addition to his career-high 14 points, Spadone achieved career highs in rebounds (eight), assists (five), and steals (3). The Bison defense forced 14 turnovers and converted the Highlanders’ miscues into 29 points. Tariq Francis scored a game-high 19 points for NJIT.
