Whittall earned win at Williams Grove this past weekend

At Williams Grove on Friday night it was Justin Whittall picking up his second win at the track worth $6,000 for the Garden State driver. Whittall chased TJ Stutts down the backchute on lap 15 before plastering him deep in the third corner to get the lead but Stutts fought back as the pair completed the circuit and raced to his outside into the first turn.

The pair raced side by side out of the second turn and down the back before Stutts crossed over to surge back into control in the third corner but just as he was making his move the No. 18J of JT Ferry got backwards in the middle of the corners on the high side and turned over. Both drivers narrowly escaped contact with Ferry’s mount and the red placed Whittall back at the helm, where he would stay. Kyle Reinhardt rode home third followed by Freddie Rahmer and PA Dyno Hard Charger Danny Dietrich.

Spring Grove’s Cole Young took his first career win in the 358 sprint car division, leading all 20 laps.

Up next the Williams Grove will host 410 sprint cars as they tune up for the upcoming National Open with the World of Outlaws tune-up race as part of the Hoosier Diamond Series on Friday night. The 358 sprints will also be in action, capping off their 2024 season at Williams Grove Speedway.

In other racing action at Dirt’s Monster half-mile on Saturday night, fans missed a complete barn-burner for the third annual Sport Compact Shootout with open four cylinders. PPMS would see qualifying, eight heat races, five feature events and kid’s bike races.

Josh Frantz would win the third annual Sport Compact Shootout, while Mike Reft picked up the win in the RUSH late model feature. Logan Koteles picked up win number six on the season for the fuel required hobby stocks, while Nick Kocuba took advantage of a late-race restart when he went from fourth to first to snag his third win on the season for the Penn Ohio pro stocks and the Gavin Kokolis picked up an impressive seventh win for the young guns.

Racing resumes at Dirt’s Monster half-mile on Saturday for the final points race of the season headlined by the RUSH sprint cars plus an action event with the RUSH late models, fuel required hobby stocks, Penn Ohio pro stocks, open four cylinders and young guns.

Starting at $2.99/week.
