Lock Haven hosts Indiana in big matchup at home tonight

LOCK HAVEN — The much anticipated 2024 Lock Haven football season is underway and the Bald Eagles are set for their home opener, which is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday night at Hubert Jack Stadium against Indiana (Pa.).

Saturday’s home opener is the first of five home games scheduled this fall and it’s the first of three straight games at home.

The Bald Eagles will host California (Pa.) on Saturday, Sept. 21 and Lock Haven’s 2024 Homecoming Game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28 vs. Millersville.

LockHaven will host Bloomsburg on Saturday, Oct. 19 and the final home game of the regular season is set for Saturday, Nov. 9 vs. Shippensburg.

Lock Haven opened the 2024 season with a convincing 31-9 road-victory at Glenville State during Week-1 action last weekend.

It marked the fifth straight season where the Bald Eagles opened with a win, but Lock Haven is looking for its first 2-0 start since 1982. Last season, the Bald Eagles won five games, the most wins in a single season for Lock Haven in over 40 years.

KJ Howard will look to build off last week’s impressive performance where he had 21 carries for 154 yards and a touchdown, averaging 7.3 yards per carry against Glenville State. Jackson Ostrowsky saw success passing for Lock Haven as well, as he went 15 for 24 for 201 yards and two touchdowns.

Rocco Daugherty had two interceptions last week and Davien Vernon had one as the Bald Eagles pressured Glenville State all game.

That defense will need to be on its top game this week.

Indiana (Pa.) defeated Ashland in Week 1, 19-10, on the road. Karst Hunter had success passing for IUP, going 17 for 25 for 176 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked three times, however, and did throw an interception. On the ground, IUP ran fro 159 yards as a team, 72 of which came from Adam Houser on his 16 carries.

Starting at $2.99/week.
