Harry Russell “Russ” Blanchard Jr., PhD, DMin, MDiv, BS
Russ Blanchard, 74, of Williamsport, died Monday, April 14, 2025, peacefully at his home. Born Sept. 4, 1950, in Williamsport, he was the son of Harry R. Blanchard Sr. and Charlene V. (Solt) Blanchard.
Russ and his spouse, Dawn, shared a wonderful life. Russ was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a lifetime member of the Windsor PA fire company and served as their treasurer. He was a coin collector, loved to piece together family genealogies, spent his summers doing short-term mission work in the U.S., Caribbean and West Africa and researched the history of firearms as he collected antique guns and other weaponry.
Russ is survived by Dawn L. (Schon) Blanchard; sons, Harry R. (Stephanie) Blanchard III, of King of Prussia; Samuel J. (Kelly) Blanchard, of Orlando, Fla.; daughters, Joycelyn V. Blanchard, of Williamsport, Abby D. Blanchard, of Baltimore, Md.; brother, Ralph E. (Paula) Blanchard, of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; grandchildren, Jessica Da Rocha, Kira Blanchard, Luke Blanchard, Harry Blanchard IV, Max Blanchard; and great-granddaughter, Alice Da Roche.
Russ was preceded in death by his father, Harry Blanchard Sr. and mother, Charlene Blanchard.
There will be no funeral service. An open house at the Blanchard home will be announced in the future for anyone wishing to attend.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the church Pastor Russ served for the last 20 years, Centennial Chapel of Cogan Valley, c/o LaRue Meyer, 130 Blueberry Lane, Williamsport, PA 17701.
