Linda A. Dittmar

Linda A. Dittmar, 69, of Webster, N.Y., died Monday, March 10, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born December 24, 1955, in Batavia, N.Y., she was a daughter of Grace (Liebenau) Dittmar-Bodle and the late Robert W. Dittmar.

Linda was a graduate of Montoursville High School, Class of 1974, and Mohawk Valley Community College. Following her graduation Linda enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where she served as a telecommunications specialist from 1976 to 1984 and reached the Rank of Staff Sergeant. Linda then served in a civil service position at Griffis Air Force Base and Rome Labs, In Rome N.Y., from 1985 until her retirement in 2019.

Linda was a dedicated mother and grandmother who was an active American Youth Soccer volunteer for 10 years, serving as area director and regional director. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed horseback riding. Growing up in Montoursville, Linda was a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior.

Surviving, in addition to her mother of Muncy; is a son, Scott Smith, and his wife Jessica, of Webster, N.Y.; a brother, Robert W Dittmar, and his wife Leah, of Muncy; and three grandchildren.

In addition to her father, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Amy Louise Dittmar.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Poco Farm Road Church, 89 Kimble Hill Rd., Williamsport, with Pastor Bryan J. McClelland officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville.
