James “Jim” Donald Lewis

James “Jim” Donald Lewis, 75, a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2025, in Williamsport. He was born on September 16, 1949, in Kane, Pa to Shirley Beyer and the late Donald E. Lewis and lived a life marked by dedication to his country, his family, and his passions.
Jim proudly served his country as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, where he was awarded multiple medals of honor for his dedicated service. His career in the military was one of commendation and respect, leaving a lasting legacy that will be remembered by all who knew him. After retiring from the Air Force, Jim channeled his hard work and discipline into a successful landscaping career, where he continued to beautify the world around him.
Beyond his professional life, Jim was known for his avid interest in gardening and was an active member of the Garden Club. His love for collecting was evident in his vast assortments of coins, ivory pipes, and stamps, which he cherished and shared with those close to him.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Lewis; his brother, Michael Mattison; and his second wife, Ellen Victoria Lewis.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Florence Lewis of Williamsport; his ex-wife, Beverly Lewis of Kentucky; his son, Donald E. Lewis of Kentucky; his daughter, Cynthia (Mark) Parrish of Kentucky; step-daughters, Diane (Luke) Franzen and Michele Rider; step-son Kevin (Kira) Smith; and grandchildren Miranda Lewis, Morgan Rogers, Cody Lewis, and Esabella Vinson. Jim also leaves behind cherished great-grandchildren Rowan Rogers, Oaks Rogers, and Solomon Lewis. He is further survived by his brother, Gerald Lewis of New York, and his sister, Dawn (Dick) Wilson of Bath.
Jim will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know this remarkable man. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Central Baptist Church, 601 7th Avenue, Williamsport, Pa 17701. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., and the Memorial Service officiating by Pastor Howard Woodruff starting at 11 a.m.
