Daniel M. “Dan” Munsell

Daniel M. “Dan” Munsell, 93, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Barbara L. (Bower) Munsell on March 22, 2019.

Born April 24, 1931, in South Williamsport, he was a son of the late Daniel M. Munsell, Sr. and Cora L. (Wilson) Munsell.

Dan was a proud veteran, having served in the Air Force during the Korean War. His dedication to his country was a defining aspect of his character, and he continued to honor his fellow servicemen as a member of the Korean War Veterans Honor Guard. After his military service, Dan had a career in furniture management and sales.

Beyond his professional life, Dan was an ordained Baptist Reverend since 1957, a testament to his deep and abiding faith. He was an active member of the First Christian Church of Montoursville, where he found great joy in participating in church activities and southern Baptist concerts. Dan’s commitment to his faith was evident in the way he lived his life, always striving to be a beacon of kindness and support to those around him.

Dan was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and the YMCA. He enjoyed traveling, dancing, and going to flea and farmer markets.

Surviving are his children Stephen D. Munsell of Williamsport and Barbara C. Springer of Jersey Shore; three grandchildren, Cody Springer, Katessa Springer, and Laura Eckenroth; a great-granddaughter, Amariah Eckenroth; his significant other, Betty; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William D. Munsell; his brother, Arther Wilson; and three sisters, Clara Mae Inamorato , Gertrude “Trude” Snauffer, Cara L. “Peggy” Spann.

A memorial service to honor the life of Dan will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1 at First Christian Church of Montoursville 5329 Lycoming Mall Dr, Montoursville. A visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until time of service at the church.
