Helen Eleanor “Chub” (Fridley) Spotts

Helen Eleanor “Chub” (Fridley) Spotts 94, of Williamsport, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at The Williamsport Home.

Born August 3, 1930, in Hillsdale, she was a daughter of the late Merle and Mildred (Butterbaugh) Fridley.

Helen was a 1948 graduate of Commodore High School Indiana County and she embraced the role of a homemaker with grace and enthusiasm. Helen was a devoted woman of faith and a member of Pine Street United Methodist Church.

Helen was a cherished individual who dedicated her life to her family and found pleasure in flower gardening, yard sales, watching her afternoon soap operas, and playing cards. Camping trips were treasured adventures, allowing Helen to immerse herself in the beauty of nature and the company of her loved ones.

Surviving are two sons Steven E. Spotts (Cathy), of Williamsport, Stanley E. Spotts (Michelle), of Linden; two daughters, Debra R. Perry (Steven) and Jodi L. Binkley (Robert), both of South Williamsport; seven grandchildren, Nicole Caputo (Matthew), Danielle Parker (Jeramie), Terra Shaner (Zachary), Jared Spotts (Justine), Kyle Spotts, Cassie Spotts, and Bryce Binkley (Sammi); six great-grandchildren, Ronin, Devon, Grace, Wyatt, Dakota, and Emery.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband Eldon Emery Spotts, Jr. on August 1, 2020; three sisters Pearl Mock, Dorothy Clark, Dora Henry and two brothers Roy and Sam Fridley.

A memorial service to honor the life of Helen will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 21 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s name to the VFW Post #7863, Duboistown 150 Shaffer St, Williamsport, PA 17702.
