Frances L. Marshall

Frances L. Marshall, 94, of Williamsport, died Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Lehighton Place. Born October 26, 1930, in Waterville, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Rev. John and the late Doris (Adams) MacGorman. She and her husband Raymond shared 65 years of marriage and had a wonderful life together.

Frances was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed puzzles, cooking, baking, shopping at Boscov’s, playing the organ, singing, playing card games, and enjoying chocolate candy. Frances loved spending time with her family, as well as her pets, Peaches, Roger, and Roger II.

She was previously employed as a Sales Associate at Sears, Roebuck and Company, and Picway Shoe Store for many years. Frances was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Third Street United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was a woman of unwavering faith, radiating kindness and compassion in all she did. Guided by her deep love for God, her heart overflowed with a genuine desire to help others, offer a listening ear, a comforting word, or a helping hand whenever needed. Through her selflessness, patience, and humility, her presence was a beacon of light.

Frances is survived by two daughters, Nancy L. (Michael) Walker, of Williamsport; and Donna R. Huckabee, of State College; and a son, Danny R. (Ruth) Marshall, of Williamsport. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Marshall; a daughter, Laurie Marshall; a son, Randy Marshall; two grandsons, Shane and Dwaine Marshall; as well as four brothers and one sister.

A private family graveside service will be held to honor Frances’ life.
