Dorothy J. Dinkins

Dorothy J. Dinkins, 77, of Williamsport, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Williamsport.

She was born on July 7, 1947 in Abington and was the daughter of the late Madison and Dorothy (Taliferro) Dinkins. Dorothy graduated from Abington School District and had worked at Willow Grove Naval Air Base until their closing in 2005. At that time, she moved to Williamsport and then started to work for Delta Galil where she retired from. After retirement, she went back to work at Wegmans until her health declined. She had attended Ebeneezer Baptist Church. Dorothy enjoyed traveling, playing cards, family and friends. She enjoyed a simple life. If you liked Dorothy, she liked you. She was a wonderful mother and enjoyed being a grandmother.

Dorothy leaves to mourn and cherish her memories and beautiful smile, one son, Nelson Coffield of Williamsport; one daughter, Anna M. Dinkins of Williamsport; one grandson, Taron Dinkins; four great grandchildren, Nena Dinkins, Neah Dinkins, Dyshad Brown and Nyair Brown; two brothers, James Dinkins of Abington and Donald “Butch” Dinkins of Lancaster, Calif.; one sister, Anna Lawrence of Abington and a host of family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Nelson Coffield, Jr.; three brothers, Ralph, Nelson and Madison Dinkins and one sister, Janet Armstead.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport.
