Peggy Lou Snyder Basinger

Peggy Lou Snyder Basinger, 64, of Muncy, Pa died peacefully on September 28, 2024 at home following a long illness.

Born December 18, 1959, in Muncy, Pa, she was the youngest daughter of Renshaw Snyder and Erma Michael Snyder. She and her husband Mark of Muncy, Pa shared a wonderful and full life. Peggy was a devoted wife, Mother, and Grandmother who delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, children and family. She found great enjoyment in her horses, loved vacations at the beach, bicycling, snow and water skiing and her gardens. Peggy graduated from Hughesville High School in 1977. She attended Mt. Vernon Nazarene University and received her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from College Misericordia. She spent most of her career working at Evangelical Hospital in Lewisburg, Pa where she dearly loved her coworkers and found great purpose in caring for her patients. Peggy was a member of Hughesville Friends Church and loved being a part of the Childrens Program especially the nursery.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Mark Basinger, of Muncy; three children, Ty (Adrianne) Basinger of Williamsport, Lindsay (Nick) Turnage of Millville, and Aaron (Carissa) Basinger of Muncy; four grandchildren, Autumn, Finn, Alexander, and Scarlet; two sisters, Ann Quick of Lake Ariel and Vicky DeWald of Muncy; and one brother, David (Kathy) Craver of Hughesville.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Erma and Renshaw Snyder of Muncy Pa, and her brother, Leroy Snyder.

A celebration of life will be held at the Hughesville Friends Church, 137 S. Third St Hughesville PA on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at noon with Rev. Dan Cale officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon the day of the celebration at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Peggy’s name made to the Hughesville Friends Church or Sunnybrook Meadows therapeutic riding program, located in Montgomery.
