Paul David Helsel

Paul David Helsel, 83, of Newark, DE, died Sunday, October 13, 2024. Born March 9, 1941, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Paul C. and Marion F. (Hall) Helsel.

Paul graduated from Liberty Joint High School in 1959 and Penn State in 1962. He retired as an engineer from ATK Elkton Company, DE. Paul was, most notably, elected as the National President of the Fraternal Order of Elks and served from 2008 to 2009, the highest rank achievement in Elkdom.

Surviving are his wife Jane L. (Valiante) Helsel of 59 years, two daughters, Diane L. Coleman (Joe) of FL, and Janet M. Caruccio (John) of DE; 3 grandchildren Ben, PJ and Amanda and his sister, Karen Cook (Al), of Trout Run.

A funeral service to honor the life of Paul will be held in Delaware on Oct. 22. A second visitation will be held 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, PA 17701 with a funeral service to begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow the service in Steam Valley Cemetery.
