Barry Lee Ford

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Lee Ford of the Villages, Fla formerly of Watsontown, Pa. Barry passed away in Florida’s Ocala Hospital on February 11, 2024 at the age of 81.

He was born in Coatesville, Pa on October 22, 1942 to the late Ralph W. Ford and Evelyn (McWilliams) Ford. He is survived by his beloved wife, Constance E. (Miller) Ford; his children, Kelly L. Ford of Philadelphia, Pa and Ralph W. Ford II and his wife Elizabeth (Jones) Ford of Watsontown, Pa; two grandchildren, Ethan E Harris of Tempe, Ariz, and Conor F. Harris of Mifflinburg, Pa, and his nephew Ralph C. Ford of Okla. He was preceded in death by his brother, Manning W Ford of Tenn.

Barry graduated from Scott Senior High School, Coatesville, Pa in 1960. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the Army where he served honorably for three years. He grew up working in his family’s trucking business and later became involved in the manufactured housing industry. He became a manufactured home dealer, designer, and developer; operating numerous successful developments. In addition, he owned and operated two restaurants in Florida and Pennsylvania. He had many professional achievements marked by his dedication to a strong work ethic, his intellect, and a competitive nature all of his life.

His hobbies were numerous and varied from boating on the Chesapeake Bay to snowmobiling and 4-wheeling in New York and Pennsylvania. He was a past co-president of Williamsport’s Bald Eagle Ski Club and went on many ski trips in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. He loved to golf and was a long-time member of the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #0323 of PA, a lifetime member of the VFW post #2473 of Clearwater, Fla, a master mason in the Williamson Lodge #309 of Downingtown, Pa, a 32-degree member of the Scottish Rite Free Masonry in Reading, PA, and a member of the Rajah Shriners in Reading, Pa.

His children and grandchildren were the loves of his life and he was very proud of the adults they have become. Barry’s spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched, his deep love of his family, his generous heart, and the many, many happy, fun-filled memories by all who knew and loved him.

It was Barry’s request to have a private, family only burial in Watsontown, Pa.
