Marvin W. Mayle

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marvin W. Mayle on September 25, 2024 in Allenwood. He was born on September 2, 1960, in Marietta, Ohio to Ronald Lee and Shelba Regina Mayle. Then on October 6, 1997, Marvin married the love of his life, Billie Jean Honeycutt.

Marvin was a talented musician who loved singing and playing bluegrass music with his friends and family. Marvin had a kind and gentle soul, and his door was always open. He was a friend to all that knew him.

Marvin was a member of the Washington Twp. Vol. Fire Co. in Elimsport. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Montgomery. In addition, he was a member of the Young Democratic Club in Williamsport.

Marvin was a 1978 graduate of Warren High School in Vincent, Ohio. In addition, he was employed for 30 years at MB Companies in Muncy where he recently received a promotion to Quality Control Manager.

Marvin is survived by his wife, four daughters, Carolyn Humes (Rich) of Shamokin, Terri Koch (Nate) of Muncy, Bobbie Jane Holland (Kevin) of Goldsboro, N.C., and Laura Diehl of Montgomery; one sister, Connie Mayle (Robin Blakeman) of South Point, Ohio; one brother, Roger Mayle of Belpre, Ohio.; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Lavada Ramsey Mayle; his paternal grandparents, Doris and Sylvia Hill Mayle and Carroll and Ada Harris Mayle; and his nephew, Wes Mayle.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St. Hughesville, Pa. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Marvin’s name to the Washington Twp. Vol. Fire Co. in Elimsport.
