Two shot and one stabbed in Loyalsock Township domestic disturbance
A father and son, along with the son’s girlfriend, were all being treated at UPMC Williamsport following a family disturbance that turned violent inside a home on Grampian Boulevard in which two people were shot and one was stabbed about 10 a.m. Thursday, state police confirmed.
All those involved in the violence are at the hospital, a police supervisor said. No one is being sought, he added. As of Thursday night, no charges had been filed.
“This is an isolated incident,” the supervisor said. No ages or identities were released.
The shooting occurred at 1429 Grampian Blvd. in Loyalsock Township.
“The father was stabbed, and two others — a son and his girlfriend, were each shot,” the trooper said.
“It’s our understanding that all three are (in) stable (condition),” he added.
In a statement issued Thursday night, Trooper Lauren Lesher, public information officer at the Troop F barracks in Montoursville, said, “This was the result of a physical altercation in which a son stabbed his father resulting in the father then shooting. The bullet passed through the girlfriend before hitting the son. None of the injuries were fatal.”
Troopers processed the scene inside the home and also went to the hospital to question those involved once medical staff cleared the patients for interviews, the supervisor said.
One source familiar with the investigation said both gunshot victims suffered wounds to the abdomen, and at least one of them was undergoing surgery. The father was reportedly stabbed in the ribs, the source said.
Shortly after the violence erupted, additional command staff responded to the home, including State Police Capt. Travis Doebler, who is in charge of Troop F.
Troopers obtained at least two search warrants, one allowing them to gather evidence inside the house and another to seize any evidence in a vehicle.
