Commissioners act on several agreements

As the 2024 Presidential Election approaches, the Lycoming County Commissioners approved the 2024 HAVA (Help America Vote Act) election security grant agreement at their weekly meeting.

The grant from the state’s Department of State in the amount of $3,602, represents the county’s portion of that award.

In other actions, the commissioners approved: the repair of the CAT D5 LGP for electrical issues by Cleveland Brothers in the amount of $22,233 for Resource Management Services; the renewal of the Stormwater Permit for the TRIP property; the renewal of video conferencing services utilized by the courts and other areas in the county with Keystone Consulting Group in the amount of $14,900; the purchase of new ploy-com systems from for Courtrooms 1-4 in the amount of $31,932 to provide for four video conferencing units an four support rooms; the amendment to the agreement with Marco Technologies LLC – Maintenance & Repair Copier Equipment to remove five copiers off the current contract and add them to a new contract at a lower rate; the 2024-2026 agreement with Verizon Phone Service in the amount of $440

in monthly charges for a phone service upgrade; the agreement with Quality Air Mechanical Inc in the amount of $14,000 to correct issue on the line that is the main source of water to the prison; the Strategic Management Planning Program grant contract with the Department of Community and Economic Development in the amount of $200,000, which will offset the cost of the new financial management system; a Request for Proposals release for the Williamsport Cross Pipe Rehabilitation Project Phase 2; and an agreement with CareerLink to start the OJT (On the Job Training) program. This is a 50% cost share between CareerLink and the County, where CareerLink will reimburse the county half of the wages.

Under personnel, the following positions were filled at the rates of pay listed: Michael Fitzwater, full-time residentsSupervisor I, Union, at the Pre-Release Center, $18.64 per hour; Kate Kustenbauder, Licensed Practical Nurse at the Prison, $30 per hour,. Resource Management – Jonah Inch, full-time work crew foreman at Resource Management Services (RMS), $17.18 per Hour, Ryan Paterson, part-time equipment operator at RMS, $18 per Hour, LeAnne Rauch, Administrative Specialist/Floater in Information Services, increase compensation from $15.70 to $16.21 to adjust salary as equals.
