City of Williamsport seeks public input on parks and recreation

The City of Williamsport wants community input on its 10-year parks and recreation comprehensive plan. There will be three public sessions this week.

The city is hosting two public workshops today to gather feedback on ways to improve the city parks system in the upcoming Comprehensive Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Green Infrastructure Plan.

A workshop with the city Recreational Department will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., and a workshop with city officials will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the YMCA, 641 Walnut St.

A third workshop will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, specifically related to the pump track at Shaw Park.

Parks and recreation has been high on a list of community survey takers as important to them.
