Muncy area man faces burglary-related charges
Marshall Joseph Rothrock, 20, of 13 Heberling Road, Muncy, has been arrested on charges of robbery, burglary, theft, criminal mischief and conspiracy and simple assault for his alleged involvement in a crime in which he and two male juveniles illegally entered another man’s home, assaulted the resident and stole items, state police said.
The home is in the 9500 block of Route 220 in Shrewsbury Township and was burglarized about 10 p.m. on June 10, police said. The resident knows Rothrock, but he didn’t know the names of the juveniles, both of whom wore ski masks and sunglasses, it was stated in an affidavit. All three had been at the home earlier in the evening with the victim, police were told.
While the two juveniles “jumped” the victim and “beat the (expletive) out of him, Rothrock reportedly recorded the attack, police said. The victim was treated at a local hospital for injuries he suffered in the assault, police said. Two Xbox controllers, a hard drive, medical marijuana and another prescription drug were among the items stolen from the house, police said.
Following his arraignment before District Judge Kirsten Gardner, Rothrock was released on $50, 000 bail. He waived his preliminary hearing last week.
