Aviation conference coming to region’s airport in October

This fall marks the 44th year of the Annual Pennsylvania Aviation Conference, the only conference of its kind in the Commonwealth, which begins on Oct. 7.

According to a news releas, the three-day conference and trade show brings together the people, companies, and innovations that generate $23.6 billion in annual economic impact for Pennsylvania, provide a lifeline to communities, helping thousands of businesses of all sizes to be more productive and efficient, and provide emergency and humanitarian services to people in need.

“We look forward to making this year’s PA Aviation Conference a tremendous success, and together we challenge ourselves to increase awareness of and be a champion for the aviation sector. We are thrilled to be in the Williamsport region with our industry, government, and aviation supporters,” said Aviation Council of Pennsylvania President Gabriel Monzo, according to the news release. “This event continues to provide aviation leaders with the opportunity to showcase the best of our industry and form connections and partnerships that will drive growth in the sector.”

The conference, hosted by the Williamsport Regional Airport, features “a dynamic keynote address on Tuesday, October 8, Monday with PennDOT Secretary Michael Carroll, Shannon Massey, Senior Vice President, Lycoming Engines, and Dr. Michael Reed, President of the Pennsylvania College of Technology,” the news release said.

Miss Pennsylvania 2024, Paige Weinstein, will speak about her journey toward getting her commercial pilot license.

Programming includes updates from the Federal Aviation Administration, Honeywell, PennDOT, and the Governor’s Aviation Advisory Committee, as well as engineering tracts and sessions that address the latest business opportunities and compliance, among other topics.

The Aviation Council of Pennsylvania is a non-profit trade association that has been representing the aviation industry since 1960, the news release said. Pennsylvania’s 120 public-use airports, 228 private-use airports, and 275 private-use heliports provide an annual economic impact of $34.1 billion, as well as support for more than 226,000 jobs.
