Montgomery firefighter accused of sending lewd messages to minor
A 14-year-old female junior firefighter has accused a member of the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Company of sending her lewd messages, authorities said.
The alleged victim stated that while messaging Austin Mickel Diehl, 23, 1232 Pine Bark Lane, Mifflinburg, on the social media app Snapchat, the conversation turned “weird,” according to court documents.
As the conversation progressed, Diehl allegedly began complimenting the minor’s body.
“Your [sic] cute but I know I’m a lot older then you,” Diehl allegedly told her in one of the messages, police said.
The inappropriate messages allegedly began Jan. 5, 2024 and continued until she blocked him two days later, an affidavit said.
The alleged victim showed authorities three screenshots of messages Diehl allegedly sent to her, as well two additional messages he had sent to one of her friends.
The second female confirmed to police that Diehl had sent her Snapchat messages in which he commented on her body as well, and that she took screenshots and sent them to the alleged victim, they said in an affidavit.
All five messages viewed by police featured a selfie of Diehl donning a Montgomery fire company hat and coat with messages superimposed over the images.
Diehl was arraigned on two counts of misdemeanor harassment by District Judge Kirsten Gardner and released on $5,000 bail.
