Hughesville man charged with child sex crimes
Richard J. Feldser, 62, of 393 E. Water Street, Hughseville faces several child sex abuse charges after a youth he was babysitting accused the man of inappropriately touching him and his brother, an affidavit said.
Hughesville police were made aware of the behavior on Dec. 11, 2024, when they received a Child Welfare Report from Child Youth Service stating that a minor Fedsler was babysitting accused him of pulling down his and his brother’s pants and trying to touch their private parts. Feldser also allegedly pulled the youth into his room and attempted to have sex with him, court documents said.
During a follow-up interview on Jan. 17, 2025, the youth stated that Feldser once pushed him into his bedroom, pulled his pants down and forced him to perform a sex act, according to authorities.
The minor said it had only happened once a few years prior, when he was 6 or 7 years old, after which he never visited the residence again.
In a separate interview that day, the accuser’s brother reported that Feldser would sometimes pull their pants down, at times also trying to remove their underwear, though he said he and his brother resisted those attempts.
Feldser was arraigned on charges of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child under 13, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault, corruption of minors and indecent exposure by District Judge Kirsten Gardner and remanded to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
