Linden-area man arrested after allegedly firing gun at two people

During a disturbance with a couple who were in a Mustang outside his Woodward Township residence at 37 Welker Road about 9:50 p.m. on Aug. 31, Zachary Guthrie walked into his mobile home, came out moments later with a handgun and “shot multiple rounds” at the two, state police alleged in court papers. Neither Alissa Tucker nor her boyfriend, Fredrick Fuess, were injured, police said, adding the couple sped away in the car.
The couple and another woman, Aubri Wolfe, were inside Guthrie’s home with him when the disturbance between Fuess and Guthrie erupted, police were told, adding that argument continued once the couple went outside. The two got in a Mustang and “Guthrie began punching the vehicle and threatening the two,” police alleged. Guthrie then went inside his mobile home and came out with a gun, police said.
In an interview with police Guthrie, 24, admitted that after walking back in his residence, he “removed a handgun from above the refrigerator and came outside firing three rounds to the ground next to the Mustang. He said he did not point the gun at the vehicle, but (only) fired the rounds to scare them out of the car,” referring to Tucker and Fuess, the affidavit started. After firing the shot, Guthrie walked back into the mobile home and placed the firearm “under the mattress in his bedroom,” police were told. Arraigned hours later before District Judge Christian Frey on two counts each of aggravated assault and recklessly endangering plus one count of possession of marijuana, which he had on him, and committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail. He was held for court this week on all charges following a preliminary hearing.
