“This little guy was raiding the garden and the garbage can” near the home of Donald Black, of Williamsport, according to John N. Andreacci, who emailed the photos to the Sun-Gazette. “He set a trap, and this is what was caught.” Andreacci said the blonde raccoon was shown to a few people and then released back into the wild. “Maybe this upcoming trapping (or) hunting season, someone might get a chance to see it,” he said. Raccoons usually are a black-brown color but can be shades of blonde, red or brown. According to the state Game Commission, albino or totally black raccoons are rare. See Page F-4 for more photos of rare wildlife.
