LEWISBURG - Angela Hummel, vice president of human resources at Evangelical Community Hospital, has successfully attained the senior professional in human resources certification.
The certification is administered by the HR Certification Institute, the world's most widely recognized independent certifying body for the hunman resources profession.
Hummel's commitment to receiving certification demonstrates dedication, credibility, and a mastery of principles of human resources to Evangelical Community Hospital, its clients, staff members, and professional peers around the globe.
Hummel was named the hospital's vice president of human resources in October 2013 after serving as the hospital's director of organizational development and training for eight years.
She holds a bachelor of science degree in secondary education and English and a master of arts degree in communication studies, both from Bloomsburg University.
Her work experience has spanned several industries, including banking, health care and managed care.
Hummel is also an involved community leader. She is a past board chairwoman and board member for Junior Achievement of SUN Counties, an active member of the business and education committee for the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce, the chairwoman for the chamber's Young Americans program and is a graduate of the Leadership Susquehanna Valley-Class of 2009. She has been invited to speak to a number of community groups on various leadership topics. In 2012, Hummel was listed as one of the Top 100 People in Central Pennsylvania and beyond by Pennsylvania Business Central and in 2011 she received the Heritage Leadership Award from the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce.
