hold plant sale
The DuBoistown Garden Club will hold their annual plant and bulb sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Williamsport Grower's Market. Chairladies for the event are Nancy Henningan and Bernadette Servey.
Herr Memorial Library
to hold June events
MIFFLINBURG - The following events will take place at the Herr Memorial Library during the month of June.
Special Stitches Knitting Group, 11 a.m. Tuesdays, for knitters of all skill levels. Registration is not required.
Thursday's Threads Cross-Stitch Class, 10 a.m. Thursdays. Kathleen Flynn Irion will lead an informative class for cross-stitchers of all skill levels. Registration is not required.
Baby Discover, 9:30 a.m. June 11 through Aug 6. This free class offers a fun, safe and educational learning environment which includes weekly themes, stories read aloud, an introduction to sign language, free play time, sensory exploration and music and movement activities. Space is limited and registration is required.
Summer Discover, 10 a.m. June 12 through Aug 7. A fun, safe and educational learning environment which includes stories read aloud, arts and crafts projects, games and activity stations. There will be a variety of educational themes with a focus on science throughout the summer. Registration for this program is required.

Blooming Grove Historical Society
spring meeting to be held
COGAN STATION - The board of directors of the Blooming Grove Historical Society will host the spring meeting at 2 p.m. June 1, at the Meetinghouse, 297 Dunkard Church Road. Preservation contractors will be the guest speakers and will share their understanding of historic log structures.
The meeting is open to the public. The museum will be open until 5 p.m. The Meetinghouse and museum are open from 2 to 5 p.m. every Sunday from June through September. This summer a special display will highlight World War I and World War II memorabilia.
Beckoning Cat Project to hold open house
Beckoning Cat Project will host an open house at their spay neuter clinic for cats from 1 to 5 p.m June 4, at their facility, 1417 E. Third St. Beckoning Cat Project opened their clinic in January and have spayed or neutered more than 800 cats. The veterinarian performs surgeries Monday-Friday, and also provides wellness services for cats in need of vaccines, nail clipping or parasite control.
They also lent traps and assist with TNR (trap, neuter, return) of colonies.
Staff veterinarian, Dr. Welch, will be on hand to answer questions, tours of the facility will be given, there will be door prizes, including a free spay or neuter. Light refreshments will be served.
