The United Commercial Travelers of America, Williamsport Council 350, has announced the winners of their Safety Poster Contest. Posters were created by area students ranging from third to 12th grade and were judged according to their original artwork and safety message.
The posters were evaluated by two judges: Eve Archer, a retired art teacher from the Williamsport Area School District, and Todd C. Heckman, assistant fire chief.
The winning students from the lower level (grades three through five) were Halle Clark, first place, Lycoming Valley Intermediate School; Andrew Sherman, second place, Jackson Primary School; and Maria D'Ottavio, South Williamsport Central Elementary School and Adelia Engel, Lycoming Valley Intermediate School, tie for third place.

Middle level (grades six through eight) First Place was were Siera Latsch, Lycoming Valley Intermediate School.
Also for the middle level, intellectual disabilities division, winners were: Timothy Sherman, first place, Williamsport Area Middle School and Will Hall, second place, C.E. McCall Middle School, Montoursville.
All first place winners will progress to the next level to be judged at the Pennsylvania Grand Convention to be held May 8-10 at the Genetti, were they will compete with other students statewide.
