The Susquehanna Sectional Bridge Tournament was held at the Bridge House on High Street on March 28, 29 and 30. It was known as the "Spring Out of Winter Bridge Tournament" and Mary Ann Churba was the chairperson. Judy Stein, Sue Pierce and Helen Shaffer were in charge of refreshments. Vera Peters and Connie Bamer helped in getting partnerships. Alex Bealles, of Butler, was the ACBL director of the three-day tournament. Gene Waltz, of Danville, and his partner, Arlene Andrews, of Shamokin, were the winners of the most masterpoints, with 13.25 each. The following players who play locally and earned more than three points are as follows: Mary Ann Churba and Ed Bissell, 9.76; Susan Greenleaf, 8.22; Craig Netzley, 6.73; Judy Stein, 6.53; Dave Hall, 6.42; David Marcello, 5.77; Jackie Humilovich, 5.75; Sue Pierce, 3.37; Virginia Marshall, 3.35.
