United Churches Wednesday noon ecumenical lunches are held each week of the school year at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St. On Wednesday, Becky M. Bryer, a member of the Newberry Branch of the Needlework Guild of America (NGA), will speak about her organization's mission to provide new clothes for children and adults in need in our community, as well as help us celebrate the NGA's 100-year history. A serving of a catered $6 lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Free parking is available in the lot north of the church. Although reservations are not needed, those not regular attendees should call United Churches at 570-322-1110 to help the caterer know how many to prepare for.
