MILL?HALL - The Clinton County Genealogical Society will offer "Pennsylvania Legends and Folktales - Fact or Fancy," a program for the public, 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Latter Day Saints.
The keynote speaker will be Jeffrey R. Frazier, a native of Centre Hall and author of seven books in a series called "Pennsylvania Fireside Tales."
After graduating from Penn State University in 1967, Frazier began to collect old-time tales from all over the state, seeking to find whatever truth he could in each tale. His tales cover a broad range of subjects, including Indians, wolves, mountain lions, ghosts, witches, gypsies, moonshiners and other characters of long ago.
Frazier will talk about tales specific to the Clinton County area and will include a slide presentation. Frazier's books will be available at the presentation for viewing. His latest book is titled "Ghosts of Penns Woods - ghost tales from in and around Pennsylvania state parks and historic sites."
The Clinton County Genealogical Society meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Church of the Latter Day Saints located on Route 64, just beyond the State Police barracks.
