BLOOMSBURG - The Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania Players will present the comedic musical "Avenue Q" as their fall production.
The show opens at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7, and continues at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 and 9 as well as at 3 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Alvina Krause Theater, 226 Center St.
Directed by David A. Miller, assistant professor of theatre, "Avenue Q" follows Princeton, a recent college graduate with a bachelor's degree in English, on a mission to find his purpose in life.
The winner of the 2004 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Book of a Musical and Original Score, "Avenue Q" is sometimes referred to as a "Sesame Street with adult themes," including human characters as well as puppets.
However, there are mature themes and content that make the show unsuitable for children.
The cast of the production is made up of BU students.
There are also student designers for the set and lights, with costumes designed by theatre faculty Karen Anselm and guest professional Heath Hansum as sound designer. Alan Baker, professor of the music, serves as music director.
Advanced tickets are available at the Haas Box Office at 570-389-4340. For more information about the BU Players, visit buplayers.org.
