Bernie and Bonnie Katz, owners of Le Chocolat, 420 Pine St., will be the guest presenters at the Thomas T. Taber Museum's Society Program at 2 p.m. Oct. 20 at the museum, 858 W. Fourth St.
Bernie and Bonnie will be conducting a chocolate truffle sampling.
The program is free and open to the public; however, due to the nature of the program, the museum personnel requests that reservations be made in advance by calling 326-3326 or email lchsad firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bonnie opened the retail business more than 20 years ago. At that time it had a different name and offered balloon bouquets and deliveries. Slowly, she began adding candy to her store as an extra to the balloon gift business.
Thirteen years ago, Bonnie moved her retail store from East Third Street to downtown Williamsport and made it a chocolate and candy store.
Balloons were available but that part of her business was losing ground to supermarkets and large party stores.
She then decided to expand her selection of chocolates and began attending trade shows to find some of the best chocolates produced.
The lecture series combines the LCHS Coffee Hours (second Thursday of March through June, September through December.) at 10 a.m. and its Society Programs (third Sunday of May through October) at 2 p.m.
Parking is available behind the museum and on the street. For more information, call at 326-3326 or visit www.tabermuseum.org.
