Young writers are invited to submit works to the Fall 2013 Essay, Poetry and Art Contests hosted by Creative Communication.
The essay contest divisions are: fourth through sixth grades; seventh through ninth grades; and tenth through twelfth grades, with 10 top winners in each division. Essays should be between 100 and 250 words on any nonfiction topic. The deadline for the essay contest is Oct. 15.
The poetry contest divisions are: kindergarten through third grades; fourth through sixth grades; seventh through ninth grades; and tenth through twelfth grades, with 10 top winners in each division. Poems should be the writer's original work in English at a maximum of 21 lines.
The deadline for the poetry contest is Dec. 5.
Essay and poetry entries may be submitted online at ww.poeticpower.com or via mail. Mail entries should be labeled Poetry Contest or Essay Contest and sent to 159 N. Main St., Smithfield, UT 84335. Include the author's name, address, city, state, zip, current grade, school name, school address and teacher's name.
Selected entries of merit will be invited to be published in an anthology.
Not every contest entry will be published. There is no entry fee to enter the contest or required purchase to be published. Teachers can qualify for a free book and win awards for the quality of their entries.

Starting with the 2013-2014 school year, Classroom Rewards is replacing the formerly offered Language Arts Grants.
Creative Communication also is sponsoring an art contest for students in grades K-12. Over $5,000 in prizes will be awarded to students and their teachers.
