The Brothers Grimm's classic story, "Rumpelstiltskin," will come to life at the Community Theatre on October 18, 19 and 20.
The show is written by Vera Morris and directed by Jacquie Engel.
CTL's Sprouts shows are theatre by kids, for kids and a group of kids from all over the Wiliamsport area make up the large cast.
In this show, Griselda, a 400-year-old witch, tells the ill-tempered wizard Rumpelstiltskin that in order to become the most powerful force in the kingdom, he must possess a child of royal birth.
The wizard plots and schemes and spreads the word that Laura, the miller's daughter, can weave straw into gold. Since the kingdom is bankrupt, she's whisked off to the palace and ordered to spin and spin. With Rumpelstiltskin's help, she delivers the gold but has a high price to pay.
The cast includes David Kong as Rumpelstiltskin and Gabriella Norman as Laura, the Miller's Daughter.
The Queen is played by Hannah Rankey and Prince Tom is played by Jarrod ouseknecht.
Emily Fausnaught plays the Miller's Widow while Jonah Kiessling and Makenzie Shimko play the Prime Minister and Jester respectively. Griselda the Witch is played by Ivy Waldron and the Huntsman is Aaron Baker.
Rounding out the cast are Evelyn Griffith, Aurora Beagle, Sophia Annicelli, Zoe Wagner, Katie Speicher, Marina Kadash, Isabella Cole, Caitlyn Marcyan, Ryenn Yearick and Sadie Wentzel.
Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and 19, and 2 p.m. Oct. 20.
The show runs for approximately one hour.
