Canton Kid's Movie Club to hold meeting
CANTON - The first meeting of the Canton Kid's Movie Club will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Canton Green Free Library, 38 N. Center St. The club will be screening "The Adventures of Tintin."
Membership is free, and members will receive a membership card after they attend their first movie. No reservations are required and children of all ages can participate. Movie snacks will be provided.

Susquehanna Valley Quilt Guild to meet
PENNSDALE - The next meeting for the Susquehanna Valley Quilt Guild will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Pennsdale United Methodist Church, 658 Villiage Road.
The program for the evening will be a presentation by Jill Shaw from 118 Fabrics on what to do with accumulated scraps.
Members should bring their BOM's for both the months of August and September.

Relay For Life team to hold fall yard sale
COGAN STATION - St. Michael's Angels Relay For Life team will hold their fall yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday and 28 at the Quiggleville Community Hall, Route 973.
Donations in good condition will be accepted at the hall from 6 to 8 p.m. through Thursday.
All proceeds benefit The American Cancer Society.
Yard sale to be held at Bowman Field
The Williamsport Crosscutters will be hosting the annual fall community yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Bowman Field.
More than 40 vendors will be set up in the parking lot of Bowman Field selling crafts, antiques and collectibles, new items, household goods, flea market items and food.
Vending space is availble for a fee.

Society to host Civil War historian
The Lycoming County Genealogical Society will host Civil War historian and re-enactor Barry Stocker at their monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Saturday in the community room of the Thomas T. Taber Museum, 858 W. Fourth St.
Stocker will present The History of the Repasz Band. The program is free and open to the public.
Trout Run UMC to hold barbecue
TROUT RUN - A chicken barbecue will be held from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Trout Run United Methodist Church, Route 14.
There will be a fee for the meal that will include half chicken, a baked potato, cole slaw, dinner roll, beverage and homemade desserts.
