LAPS to hold
A book sale to benefit the Lycoming Animal Protection Society will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at First Ward Fire Co., 573 Hastings Street. A large selection of both hardback and paperback books will be available.
Handicap parking, drop off and pick up will be available at the door.
Additional parking will be available in the Fire Co. parking lot behind the Fire Co. and across the street in the AAA parking lot.
Slifer House Museum
to hold events
LEWISBURG - The Slifer House Museum, 80 Magnolia Dr., will host the following events for the month of September:
10 a.m. to 4 pm. Saturday - Rummage Sale. Sale will include china, silver, books, games, jewelry, artwork, collectibles, small appliances, home decor, athletic equipment and more.
All proceeds will benefit the museum.
2 p.m. Sept. 29 - Multimedia Civil War presentation.
"Leaves Driven Before the Storm: The Civil War Service of the Seven Kline Brothers of the West" will be presented by local historian and reenactor Stan Zellers.

LEWISBURG - There will be a Countryside Contra Dancers dance from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., Saturday at Donald Heiter Community Center, 100 N. Fifth St.
There is a cost for the dance. Basic figures will be taught from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The United Commercial Travelers Williamsport Chapter will be going on a wildlife trip on Saturday to Lake Tobias Wildlife Park, Halifax.

MILTON - The Milton Model Train Museum will be open for viewing during the Milton Harvest Festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sept. 21 at 139 S. Front St.

The Loyalsock Garden Club with hold its September meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at Faxon-Kenmar Church, 1225 Clayton Ave.
Sharon Miller of S.M. Miller Greenhouse will do a demonstration of a dish garden.
She will also have plants from her greenhouse for sale.
Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild to hold meeting
WELLSBORO - The Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild will hold its September meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Gmeiner Arts and Cultural Center, 134 Main St.
The meeting will focus on the transfer of duties to new officers.
The guild will celebrate its 15th birthday party with activities focusing on getting to know the members of the guild. Birthday cake will be served.
