BLOOMSBURG - An exhibit of collaborative drawings by Lisa Corine von Koch and other artists is featured in Bloomsburg University's Haas Gallery of Art now through Aug. 27.
A closing reception is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 27 with artist lectures at 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. in the gallery. The exhibit is free and open to the public 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Koch's work is focused on the reverence of the natural world and the repurposing of the man-made materials to engage her audience in her relationship with the environment.
Koch received a master's degree in painting and drawing from Arizona State University in 2009. She has received many grants and awards, including the artist grant from the Contemporary Forum at the Phoenix Art Museum, where she landed the second prize for her Phosphorus Summit exhibit "Phosphorus, Food and Our Future." She also served as an interim professor of drawing at Bloomsburg University during the 2012-13 academic year, teaching introduction to drawing, intermediate drawing, advanced drawing and 2D design.
