Assault charge dropped against man
With insufficient evidence to support their allegations, city police have dropped charges of simple assault and harassment against Lucas James Haswell, 33, of 412 Anthony St.
Police charged him after he allegedly assaulted his pregnant girlfriend, Jacqueline Delguercio, during a disturbance at the couple's home on May 26.
2 face theft charges from mall area stores
PENNSDALE - Two men have been charged with allegedly stealing $808 worth of merchandise from Target, Lycoming Crossing, on June 2, according to Muncy Township police.
Dustin Scott Askey, 28, of Mill Hall, and Mark Anthony Brickley, 27, of Howard, have been charged with misdemeanor shoplifting, receiving stolen property and conspiracy, police said.
Brickley faces an additional set of misdemeanor charges of shoplifting and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing $190 worth of merchandise from Dick's at the Lycoming Mall on June 15, police said.
Following their arraignment before District Judge Jon E. Kemp, Brickley was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $40,000 bail while Askey was jailed in lieu of $30,000 bail.
Man faces charges after allegedly fleeing
MONTGOMERY - Leo Alvarez III, 35, of 109 Kinsey St., has been charged by borough police with accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle after he fled the scene of a crash in which his car slammed into the back of another in the first block near Main and Montgomery streets on Feb. 7.
He has since waived his preliminary hearing and is free on $1,500 bail.
Indecent exposure alleged of city man
Douglas Eugene Hilfiger, 48, of 428 Louisa St., has been charged by state police with indecent exposure and open lewdness following an incident on Greevy Road in Loyalsock Township about 11:30 a.m. May 11.
Following his recent arraignment before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman, he was released on $2,500 bail.
Man pleads guilty to harassment
In a plea agreement before District Judge Allen P. Page III, Daniel Scott Bozochovic, 29, of 1044 Franklin St., pleaded guilty to harassment after city police agreed to drop a misdemeanor charge of simple assault.
The charges stemmed from Bozochovic allegedly striking Derek R. Llewellyn in the back of the head and shoving him into a brick wall at the Cell Block, 154 W. Third St., on Feb. 2.
At his recent guilty plea, Bozochovic made arrangements to pay $400 in fines and court costs.
Shoplifting charge filed against woman
Andrea Renee Polchin, 24, of 650 Second Ave., has been charged with misdemeanor shoplifting for allegedly trying to steal $66 worth of merchandise from Kohl's, 251 William St., on Dec. 10, city police said. That is her second such offense, police said.
She has been sent a summons to appear before District Allen P. Page III.
