DALLAS, Pa. - The Misericordia University Adult Admissions Office will hold an open house for adult learners who are interested in continuing their educationfrom 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13 in Huntzinger Room 218 of Sandy and Marlene Insalaco Hall.
The event is open to adults who are interested in obtaining more information about Misericordia University's undergraduate and graduate programs and to those who have general questions about entering or returning to college.
Guests can drop in at their convenience and speak with faculty and representatives from admissions and financial aid. Common topics include credit transfer, credit for life experiences, financial aid eligibility, evening and weekend class schedules at the campus in Dallas, certificate programs, online courses and the Expressway Accelerated Degree Program.
Prospective students who bring resumes will receive an instant program review. Expressway classes are offered throughout northeastern Pennsylvania, including Nanticoke and Scranton, with shortened sessions to fit into a busy work and family schedule.
Master's degrees are available in education, business administration (MBA), organizational management and nursing, along with a post-professional program for practicing therapists in occupational therapy.
The university also offers certificate programs for nurse educator, geriatric care management, post-master's family nurse practitioner, post-professional pediatrics, and certificates in nuclear medicine technology and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems Administration.
Misericordia University also has a bachelor's degree in applied behavioral sciences (ABS) offered through the Expressway program. ABS is an interdisciplinary social science program that provides the foundation for positions in the social services, social work or psychology oriented professions.
It also will help adult learners who wish to pursue graduate work in any of the behavioral sciences, including psychology, sociology and social work.
Misericordia's popular RN to BSN degree is now offered fully online and is designed as a part-time program in an accelerated format for currently licensed RNs to earn their bachelor's degree.
