June 16 - Summerfest, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Celebrate summer by getting outdoors and trying some summer adventures such as fly fishing, canoeing or kayaking (fee for equipment required) or mountain biking. Learn about wild edible plants, tree identification and growth, forest management, cooking on an open hearth, search and rescue using dogs, geo-caching, or the basics of backpacking and leaving no trace. A food concession will be available as well as special activities and crafts for children, including building a bird box, going on a stream search, and fun make-and-take crafts. A number of local vendors, outdoor recreation and environmental organizations will have displays and activities.

Through June 25 - Little Sprouts Childrens' Gardening Series, 10:30 a.m.-noon. Children ages 4-5 will discover the joys of planting, tending, harvesting and eating their very own produce as they cultivate a plot of bright flowers, fragrant herbs and tasty vegetables. Along the way, the Sprouts will learn about seed growth, pollinators, worms, soils, healthy eating and lots more.
