LEWISBURG - Packwood House Museum has announced its first summer workshop for kids that will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon June 18.
"Folktales," featuring Welsh-born Fiona Powell, will delight kids of all ages as Powell, dressed as a weaver, tells stories and tales from around the world while she spins at her wheel. Weather permitting, the program will be held in Soldiers Park (across the street from the Museum's Tour Center). The program is open to all ages.
Packwood House Museum's 2013 Summer Programs for Kids runs June 18 through August 13.
Fiona Powell is shown with her spinning wheel as she tells stories to children.
Each session will be held 10:30 a.m. until noon on Tuesday mornings at the museum's Tour Center, 15 N. Water St., unless otherwise noted.
All programs are free, but space is limited and the museum requests that parents register their children by calling the museum at 524-0323. Funding for the programs has been provided by a grant from the Woodcock Foundation for the Appreciation of the Arts. All supplies will be provided.
