On the evening of May 17, 2013, Evelyn Piatkowski of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Montoursville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a two year battle with cancer. Evelyn was 77 years old.
She was the daughter of Anna (Zuber) and John Navitsky of Frackville, Pa. She celebrated 49 years of marriage to Edward Frank Piatkowski before he passed in 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Judilyn of Boston, Mass.; daughter, Debbie of Julliette, Ga.; sons, Ed and John of Orlando, Fla. She is also survived by her older brother, John Navitsky of Wilmington, Del.; grandchildren, Justin, Nicholas, Olivia, Brynn, Rachel and William, and several nieces and nephews. She will greatly be missed by friends and family from Pennsylvania, Ithaca, N.Y., and Florida.
Evelyn retired from the former Northern Central Bank. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Montoursville Garden Club, and a volunteer with the American Cancer Society. She loved gardening, entertaining, the beach, and canning jams, peaches and Dilly Beans! Her greatest joy however was her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Montoursville on Friday, May 24, at 10:30 a.m. Friends will be received at a luncheon immediately follow Mass in the church hall. A private burial will be held in Frackville.
