Dr. Jenifer DeWald of DeWald Chiropractic was pleased to present Diane Glenwright, YWCA executive director, with a check for $1,300 recently.
The money was raised by the patients of DeWald Chiropractic during the first quarter of this year. DeWald and Dr. Brandon Fiedler donated first day services to new patients in exchange for a donation of $25 to the Liberty House.
"Our office really enjoys having the opportunity to give something back to our community and make a contribution to a good cause," DeWald said. "This is our way of helping those in need and allowing everyone on our community the opportunity to experience the benefits of chiropractic care."
Liberty House is a transitional housing program where women and women with children can rebuild their lives. Program participants can stay up to two years while working on personal goals such as job security, financial stability and permanent housing.
Each resident of Liberty House must meet regularly with their case manager and attend required classes on nutrition, parenting, money management and more.
Liberty House opened 10 years ago this February and in that time has had many success stories - women who graduated college, bought homes and got married.
"We are so thankful to be able to provide a safe environment where women can regain their footing and build a bright, successful future," said Mae-Ling Kranz, Liberty House manager.
During the month of May, DeWald Chiropractic be host a fund raiser for The United Way.
For a $25 donation you will receive health history, chiropractic examination and report of the findings.
The doctors and staff of DeWald Chiropractic encourage people to take advantage of the offer and call DeWald Chiropractic at 322-1776 to make an appointment.
