A late-night shooting in the city left one man injured Saturday, according to city police.
At about 10:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a gunshot victim at 931 Park Ave. Officers found a 23-year-old man who had been shot in the lower left leg.
Officers found a gun near the victim and followed a trail of blood to a nearby vehicle. There they "discovered a large amount of blood in the vehicle," according a police report.
The victim is receiving treatment at an undisclosed trauma center, police said, adding that doctors likely will have to operate on the unidentified man.
Authorities have not released any description of a possible gunman.
"I can't elaborate on this at this time, but a gun was recovered," said city police Sgt. Kristopher Moore, when asked if police were seeking an assailant.
