Warrior Run Library to hold May events
McEWENSVILLE -Montgomery House Warrior Run Area Public Library, 20 Church St., to hold the following events:
Crafter's Corner - 5:30 p.m. today; Final class for "Knots, Macrame & Such." As a group, participants will learn how to create a hammock chair. This chair will then be used as a prize at a future library event. Registration required.
Board of directors meeting - 6:30 p.m. Thursday; Monthly board of trustees meeting. Meet in the East Room at Watson Inn, Watsontown. Meetings are open to the public unless otherwise stated.
Preschool Story Time - 11 a.m. Friday and 11 a.m. May 10; Theme for May is "Family." The program is for children ages 3 to 5 years and teaches early childhood literacy. Activities include stories, songs and crafts to help prepare childen for kindergarten.
National Comic Book Day - 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday; A showing of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2007) and a display of comics and graphic novels. Check out what the library has to offer and-or make suggestions for future purchases.
Worldwide Knitters - 6 p.m. May 6; Knitting group dedicated to creating items with yarn. Learn how to knit and-or join a group of like-minded crafters.
Money Smart, Retirement Planning - 6:30 p.m. May 6; West Milton State Bank sponsors a class to learn about the best ways to save for retirement and planning ahead.

Friends of the Arts group to hold meeting
WYALUSING - The recently formed community group, Wyalusing Area Friends of the Arts, will be holding their next informative public meeting on 6:30 p.m. Thursday, at the Wyalusing Area High School cafeteria.
The purpose of this group is to raise awareness of, promote advocacy for and strive to keep the performing and visual arts in our children's education, as well as the community.
The purpose of the meeting is to keep the public informed as to where the group stands in the goal to fund two teaching positions within the Wyalusing Area School District.
These two positions, one being music and the other being art, are currently being considered for elimination.
Also during this meeting, input is welcome from the community, and the group is also looking for interested persons to help in fundraising efforts.
Band association to hold yard sale
The South Williamsport Band Association will hold a yard and bake sale on from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Rommelt Middle School in South Williamsport. All proceeds will benefit the South Williamsport Junior and Senior High School bands. There also will be a Schwan's Truckload Sale going on at the school to benefit the band.
