LEWISBURG - The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Bucknell University will host the networking event, "Borrower-Lender Matchmaking," from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday in the Col. John Kelly Room of the Country Cupboard.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is co-hosted by the Lock Haven and Penn State SBDCs.
During the event fashioned after 'speed dating' events, entrepreneurs and small-business owners will have 15-minute sessions to pitch their financing needs to a variety of lenders. Potential borrowers will have access to free and confidential SBDC consulting and business planning assistance to prepare their pitch and materials. Lenders can schedule follow-up interviews with entrepreneurs whose proposals align with their portfolio.
Lenders include First National Bank of PA, M&T, Swineford National Bank, Jersey Shore State Bank, West Milton State Bank, Service 1st Federal Credit Union, KLM Financial Services and others.
Entrepreneurs and business owners are invited to meet with regional commercial loan officers to discuss loans for business acquisitions, working capital, business expansion, refinancing, machinery and equipment, facility purchases, business start-ups, franchises and lines of credit.
The Bucknell SBDC has been helping businesses start, grow and prosper for more than 30 years in Juniata, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder and Union counties. SBDC consultants are available to assist business owners who are just getting started investigating a business model, developing a business plan and need some coaching, or are seeking to reinvent, innovate and grow an existing business.
