Willard B. "Brownie" Brown, 75, Williamsport and formerly of Cogan Station, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, at The Gatehouse.
He was born May 5, 1937, in Coopersburg, the son of Raymond and Mabel (Minneger) Brown.
Willard was employed almost his entire life at AVCO, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of the Red Run Rod and Gun Club, L.O.O.M. of Williamsport and Canton, VFW Post 844 and the American Legion Post No. 1.
Willard was considered the "mayor" of Cogan Station and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, canning with his family and friends.
His survivors included his wife of 20 years, Sandra (Lose) Brown; his children, Bernard W. Brown, Jr., Williamsport, Wendy K. (Bill) Coyle, Cogan Station, Sherry A. (Daniel) Holmes, Hughesville, Patricia A. (Jeffrey) Taylor, Trout Run and Rodney C. Bates, Cogan Station; one sister, Marian (Dave) Albert, Calvert; a brother, Jerry Brown, Williamsport; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Evelyn, Earl, Mae, Dick and Paul.
Willard's Life Celebration will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Hepburn Township Volunteer Fire Co., with Marian and David Albert leading prayer at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests contributions can be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC, 20004, or the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
Arrangements are being handled by the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.
