The Spring 2013 Senior Health and Lifestyle Expos will be held in Bloomsburg at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds, Industrial Arts Building on April 23 and in Lewisburg at the Silvermoon Banquet Hall on May 21.
Representatives of more than 40 top companies that provide products and services of interest to folks more than 40 years of age will exhibit.
The fun begins at 7:30 a.m. with a free "Early Bird Breakfast" provided by Weis Markets in the "boomers cafe and lounge." Lunch including pig roast sandwiches will be served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Miss Pennsylvania, Jordyn Colao, will be the guest hostess and will be on hand to meet and greet all visitors. Miss Pennsylvania title holders have been performing duties as special guest hostess at the Senior Health and Lifestyle Expos for more than 5 years.
Prior to her crowning, she was the reigning Miss Freedom Forge when she won the state crown. Colao is a 2012 graduate of Penn State University and is 22 years old from Erie. Miss Pennsylvania is available for photo opportunities for guests and exhibitors. Visitors are invited to bring their cameras.
At 9:30 a.m., there will be a free seminar presented by Scheib Law offices, whose firm specializes in elder law issues, which will include wills, trusts, power of attorney and nursing home planning.
In Bloomsburg, Richard Smith, president RVSPG, will present a seminar: "Ending the Month with Money in Your Pocket" at 10:30 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., there will be a special presentation by Cinde Bower-Stout, MHA BSN RN, Level 1 heart attack program coordinator, "Understanding the Signs of a Heart Attack."
In Lewisburg, entertainment will be provided by singer-songwriter KJ. Powerhouse Sound DJ Brian will play the "oldies" throughout the day in both locations.
The drawings for raffle prizes will be conducted by Miss Pennsylvania and awarded at the expo. Exhibitors also will offer booth drawings for useful gifts and prizes and have lots of free goodies to take home.
Guests that register by noon will be entered into a drawing for $100 cash prize drawn by Miss Pennsylvania at 1:30 p.m.
Numerous exhibitors have participated in all 21 Senior Health and Lifestyle Expos including Geisinger, AARP, Weis Markets, AdMats and Eye Center of Central PA.
