Amy Covert Krimm Devaney died March 24, 2013, in Savannah, Ga. She was born in Williamsport, Pa., to Lawrence Edwards Krimm and Mildred Duffy Krimm.
Amy graduated from Marymount Academy in Tarrytown, N.Y., Connecticut College and attended graduate school at Columbia University. For many years, she was employed in the family business, the Charles R. Krimm Lumber Company in Williamsport, where she was vice-president. Amy was a longtime resident of Williamsport and Allentown, Pa., and Savannah, Ga.
Throughout her life, Amy was a champion athlete, especially in field hockey and golf. Amy also championed the less fortunate. She was the President of the Junior League of Williamsport, Pa.; President of the Williamsport Home; President of the Lycoming County Association for the Blind; Trustee of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind; a board member of the Wiley House in Allentown, Pa.; and active in several other community associations in Williamsport and the Lehigh Valley. Over the years, Amy was a member of Williamsport Country Club, Lehigh Country Club, where she was the ladies golf club champion, and the Landings Club.
Amy was predeceased by her husband, William J. Devaney. She is survived by a son, William Devaney, a daughter-in-law, Maria Devaney, and grandchildren Margaux, Henry and William, all of Bronxville, N.Y. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Krimm of Annapolis, Md., and her sister, Joan Krimm McShane of Hendersonville, N.C.
Amy was forever true to herself, fierce in her loyalty to her family, and she will be missed. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, April 5, at the Egan Chapel of St. Ignatius Loyola at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn.
